Description
We are a family farm located just outside of Leavenworth, KS. We raise a wide diversity of crops and livestock including fruits, vegetables, beef, pork, lamb, chicken, eggs, and flowers/bedding plants. Through our half acre of high tunnels and greenhouses, and 13 acres of outdoor production, we are capable of producing fresh veggies year-round. Our cattle herd consists of approximately 90 cow/calf pairs with ~40 steers on feed at any given time to be butchered throughout the year. All of our cattle have access to pasture/hay all of the time, and we grain finish at least 120 days prior to butchering. We raise 60-70 Duroc/Berkshire hogs annually in outdoor dirt lots where pigs get to dig and run around freely. Our sheep flock consists of ~75 ewes of hair sheep (self shedding sheep that don't require annual shearing). We receive all of our laying hens and broiler chickens as day old chicks and raise them in large, free range barns. We have found that chickens raised this way stay healthier and happier because they do not get significant exposure to wind and rain events. And if all of that didn't keep us busy enough, we also have 3 greenhouses dedicated to growing annual and perennial flowers, houseplants, and succulents.
We have an on farm store open Monday-Saturday 10-6 year-round and Sundays 1-5 from mid-April through October 31st.
We also attend farmers markets in Leavenworth, Lawrence, and Lenexa every Saturday morning through the respective farmers market season.
